Someone Who Agrees That TEACHERS NEED TO TELL OUR STORIES

Whoa! Please read the guest post on Education Week‘s “Teacher in a Strange Land” blog, by writer and former teacher Kelly Flynn. She’s someone who agrees that teachers need to tell our stories ! And it certainly is always great to have someone agree with me, and to say it out loud.

Now, I’m hoping that she and Nancy Flanagan, the main writer of that blog, can help us figure out how to move teachers to begin doing it — and to extend their voices not just to Education Week but also to the newspapers and websites and forums that reach the public in our communities. If we had enough strong support from them, we could get lawmakers and government leaders to make smarter decisions about education in this country.
