And when you see what the projects are about you’ll realize that you and dozens of teachers you know conduct activities just as exciting as these. So find out who’s giving awards and apply for one. Then tell your community about it when you win.

Wondering how to find the orgs that are recognizing teachers? In Chicago we have the Oppenheimer Foundation and Boundless Readers, and across northern Illinois the Golden Apple Foundation. We Googled and quickly found that the NEA Foundation gives awards nationally, as does the Milken Family Foundation. And here’s a blog that actually lists organizations that give awards. What are you waiting for?!
