More and more teachers are telling why they keep teaching. It looks like Beth Shaum’s video on her blog Use Your Outside Voice — which we featured on this site just yesterday — really struck a chord. Beth has received statements from a number of additional teachers & posted them. Here’s Collette Bennett’s way of saying it. So if you’re a teacher who decides to write one of these or you read someone else’s, send it to us in a comment and to Beth. Let’s keep this going!

But also find a way to get it out to the wider community. These statements certainly boost teachers’ morale at this troubling time for education. But the public needs to know much more clearly what we do and why it matters.
