I said I wouldn’t blog with the election on everyone’s mind, but then I saw this — a local newspaper featuring great teaching. Tracy Chambas & a group of her students meeting EVERY afternoon after school to work on novels for the NaNoWriMo national novel writing contest. I hope it was Tracy herself who alerted the newspaper to this. But cheers for whoever did!

Meanwhile, this gives me a new idea: Everyone who reads this, get a teacher — or two or three — to write about something he or she has done for kids and send it to the local newspaper. Get these mailed on the Nov. 16th, the Friday before Thanksgiving, to create our own media-blitz –TEACHERS GIVING THANKS FOR THEIR WORK AND THEIR STUDENTS!
