Texas GOP: no thinking allowed in school
In the Texas Republican Party platform, the education plank lists topics that should not be taught in school, and at the top of the list — can you believe this? — is critical thinking. According to Texas Republicans, TEXAS TEACHERS SHOULD NOT TEACH KIDS TO THINK. Check it out yourself. Now they claim this was a “mistake,” but they assert that the plank can’t be changed for 2 years. If this isn’t a good reason for thousands of teachers to write letters to an organization, I don’t know what is.
